Some of you will remember Bumble from October last year. We were contacted about him and told of his dreadful skin condition that he was suffering from. Nothing could have prepared us for the sight that would greet us. He had demodectic mange and as you can see from the before photos, he was in a mess.
Bumble went into foster with Rachel Todd who cared for him until he went to his permanent home with Gemma. However, 5 short months on and see how magnificent he looks now; a picture of health and a credit to his mum, Gemma. Also, huge thanks to Nicola Groundwell for your part in getting this boy to safety.

Darla

From Darla’s new family – Darla is doing brilliantly. She is a real princess and has fitted like a glove into her new life and is absolutely welded to Lenny who has just had his 13th birthday but is 4 or 5 years younger now than before she arrived. She is so affectionate and devoted to the numerous very young children who pass through the home on a regular basis with our family friends. We have a very big and secure garden so she has freedom almost all day. We have a big lake just up the road and she has learned to to swim ….we now have difficulty keeping her out of it. She is now in fabulous form and she shines. The only problem is that we have to ask her permission if we want to sit on the settee …we have never seen such a small dog take up so much space.

Chase – happy ever after.

Chase came into our care after being injured while being used as a stud dog. Unfortunately in an appalling act of cruelty his owner decided to leave him in a shed for three days, in the hope that he would get better without veterinary treatment. Chase was then found, rescued and rushed to the vets.

Chase spent just under a week in the vets and almost lost his penis. Fortunately, with excellent care, he pulled through and his penis was saved.

Chase is now living in his new home in Devon. He has settled in really well and is enjoying life with his new friend a whippet x terrier.

Huge thanks to all those who donated to Chases veterinary care.

Jet

Jet is a 7 year old whippet bitch who came into Scruples care her owner moved into new accommodation and couldn’t take Jet dog with her. Jet quickly settled into her foster home and it soon became obvious that she wouldn’t be going anywhere.

Jet was adopted by her foster carer and is now settling into a new life in Essex with her whippet friend Misty and their whippetty slave Cathryn.

Teagan

Sometimes we get dogs in who have been neglected. These dogs touch everyones hearts. Getting these dogs up to good health and full strength can be a long and emotional journey. The pictures below are before and after pictures of one of the whippets that had been neglected before coming to us.

This is Teagan, a young whippet bitch who came to us from a pound in Wales. She was very underweight, was suffering from a skin condition, had very long nails and was terrified.

Teagan went into foster in Bath where she was given lots of TLC, veterinary care, good food and lots of cuddles and love. She soon turned the corner and thanks to her fantastic foster carer is now in fantastic condition and is loving life in her forever home.

Macey

And then there is Macey who found herself needing a new home in Spring 2011 at the tender age of 14 (possibly more!) Macey came from a very loving home, where she had lived for 9 years and her owner was devastated at having to part with her due to an unavoidable move to accommodation where dogs were not accepted.

However, love and luck were on Macey’s side and she landed on her paws when going to live with Patrick on the south coast. Patrick dotes on Macey and he has devoted hours of love and time to helping this little dog to turn back the clock on her age with gentle exercise,correct feeding and lots of cuddles to maintain and improve her health! Here she is enjoying some autumn sunshine at Eastbourne and dipping her toes in the sea water.

Macey is a very happy little lurcher now and Patrick is regularly in touch with Macey’s old owner and sends her updates and pictures of Macey.

Paddy and Jonjo

Remember Paddy and Jonjo, the two elderly gentlemen who were looking for a home together?

Well, they are living it up with their new owner in the height of luxury – soft beds, healthy food and lovely countryside walks in Somerset.

These two lovely boys have fallen on their paws and I’m sure their original owner will be looking down on them now and smiling for the life they now have.
